CLOSING FOR STAFF TRAINING

Please be aware that on Thursday 20th May 2021 the Surgery and Dispensary will be closing at 1pm for staff training.  We will re-open at 8am on Friday 21st May. 

If you need medical advice and support when we are closed please contact NHS111.  If you have a life threatening emergency please dial 999. 

TELEPHONE PROBLEMS

We appear to have some technical issues with our phone system this morning - we are open until 1pm today 28/04/2021 before staff training.  We hope to solve the issues asap but you can still contact us via eConsult if you need advice today.    Please use the link on our home page.  

Appointment Pressures

We are experiencing exceptionally high demand for our GP appointments and we know this has a knock on effect for you our patients.

To help us help you we would encourage all patients to utilise our eConsult service available via this website, to confidentially contact the practice with routine and urgent but not medical emergency queries.  

This service has been designed to help your GPs manage and assess your healthcare needs efficiently.  If you use this service before 2pm we aim to contact you back the same day.

Dispensary Update

We are pleased to announce that from Monday 29th March our dispensary hours are changing.  You will be able to collect medication between 9am until 1pm and 2pm - 6pm Monday to Friday. 

Thank you everyone for your continued support and kindness to our staff during the last 12 months.

Don't forget that the Dispensary and Surgery will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 31st March due to staff training for the whole practice and we will be closed again on Friday 2nd and reopen on Tuesday 6th April for the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

EMAIL SCAM WARNING

We have been alerted by patients that there is an email in circulation claiming to be from the NHS asking you to book a COVID Vaccination.  They seem genuine in appearance but are asking for your bank details and a payment. 

COVID Vaccinations are FREE, the NHS will never ask you for a payment for this. 

Please stay safe online, if you are suspicious of any email please report it to your service provider or the police and block further emails. 

Please speak with your family and friends if you think they may be at risk from this or other types of email scams, encourage them to speak out before signing up.

The clinicians here at Freshwell are becoming increasingly excited about the low carbohydrate Mediterranean lifestyle revolution. There is emerging strong scientific evidence for the benefits of this way of eating, which can also be a very effective means of losing weight.

Also, we are hoping to host a course to help people diagnosed with prediabetes in the near future.

Self Check-In Screen for Patients

We have installed a new automated check-in screen. This is on the left of the reception area. It is hoped that this will reduce queuing in the reception area. Using the screen is easy and there are clear instructions but if you would rather speak to a receptionist please do so. The reception team will help you if you have any queries.

If you have an urgent medical problem and you are unsure of the correct course of action to take, PLEASE DO CONTACT US FOR GUIDANCE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE.

Community Transport

Is available for anyone living within the Braintree District Council area who is unable to access public transport.  The Council can provide affordable accessible transport to your appointment and home again.  Please visit their website for more information www.braintree.gov.uk/communitytransport, e-mail them on community.transport@braintree.gov.uk or call their friendly Team on 01376 557883.
